Data Center

The geographic context for the data in the files below, unless otherwise noted, is the eight-county East-West Gateway jurisdiction. This consists of the counties of Madison, Monroe, and St. Clair in Illinois and the counties of Franklin, Jefferson, St. Charles, St. Louis, and St. Louis City in Missouri. However, some data points may cover the entire 15-county St. Louis Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).

Population
    Data tables include total population, population by race and ethnicity, population by age, and historical population. All data comes from the US Census Bureau (specific data sources are noted underneath each table).

    Employment tables include total job numbers as well as employment by industry. The data comes from either the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) or the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

    Transportation tables include daily vehicle miles of travel (VMT) and means of transportation to work. The data comes from the Missouri and Illinois Departments of Transportation (MODOT, IDOT) and the US Census Bureau’s American Community Survey.
