TAP Applications Public Comment

East-West Gateway (EWG) had a call for project applications for federal funding through the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP). Project applications were due on August 19, 2022.

TAP provides funding for a variety of transportation projects such as pedestrian and bicycle facilities, safe routes to school projects, community improvements such as historic preservation and vegetation management, and environmental mitigation related to stormwater and habitat.

Illinois sponsors submitted 21 applications requesting $10.8 million in federal funds. Missouri sponsors submitted 40 applications requesting $47.6 million in federal funds. EWG staff are currently evaluating the project applications and will present the evaluated projects to the Transportation Planning Committee (TPC) for funding recommendations in early January 2023.
