Regional Airport Operations
1999

 First Quarter
St. Louis Metropolitan Region
Aircraft Operations Summary at Public-Use Airports

Notes:

*Aircraft operation estimates reflect activity measured after normal ATC operating hours. This activity, when combined with ATC traffic counts results in a slightly higher total aircraft operation count for that airport, when compared to ATC reports.

In addition to the above figures, Lambert-St. Louis International Airport had 5,364 general aviation aircraft operations and MidAmerica Airport in Illinois had 1,044 general aviation aircraft operations

The region shows a (1.4%) decline in operations in the first quarter of 1999 compared to the first quarter of 1998. Both Lambert-St. Louis and Mid America general aviation aircraft operations declined during the first quarter of 1999 by (11.9%) and (56%) respectively from the same period in 1998.

St. Louis County continues to increase aircraft operations.  Creve Coeur, with a new runway, increased aircraft operations by 97.6% during the first quarter 1999 compared to the same period in 1998.  Spirit of St. Louis indicates a slight gain of 3% during the first quarter of 1999 compared to the same period in 1998.

Festus Memorial Airport in Jefferson County, Missouri, while not in the NPIAS, showed a 34% increase in aircraft operations during the first quarter of 1999 compared to first quarter 1998 data.

In Franklin County, Missouri, aircraft operations at Sullivan and St. Clair airports increased by approximately 57.8% and 38.5% respectively, while Washington Memorial indicated a (20%) decrease in aircraft operations between the first quarter of 1999 and the first quarter of 1998.
