What is a brownfield?

Partners:

    • St. Louis Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority
    • East-West Gateway Coordinating Council
    • University of Missouri –St. Louis Local Government Management & Leadership Program
    • East St. Louis Community Development Block Grant Corporation

Purpose of Project:

    • Implement a two-year grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
    • Spread knowledge about brownfield redevelopment
    • Identify barriers to urban core redevelopment, including brownfields
    • Through addressing barriers to urban core development, preserve open space
    • Build foundation for collaboration among inner ring communities
