Air Quality Conformity Determination

Public Comments:
East-West Gateway would like input on the content of the FY 2018-2021 Transportation Improvement Program and Air Quality Conformity Determination and Documentation.  The public comment period is from June 30 through August 3. We welcome your comments.

Transportation Improvement Program:
The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) provides a listing of transportation projects using federal funds that are proposed to be implemented over the next four years.   The TIP must be fiscally constrained and is the short range component of the region’s long range transportation plan.

East-West Gateway is seeking comment on projects included in draft FY 2018-2021 TIP. There are 716 projects included in this document, at a cost of $2.17 billion.  The TIP document may be downloaded below:

There are 201 projects in the TIP that are new to the document this year.  Find the new projects in your jurisdiction and let us know what you think.

Review/comment on new projects

There are 515 projects in the TIP that are carryover or reprogrammed from the previous TIP.  Find the reprogrammed projects in your jurisdiction and let us know what you think.

Air Quality Conformity Determination:
The Air Quality Conformity Determination & Documentation (AQCD) is intended to ensure that the programs and activities proposed in long-range transportation plans and associated TIPs conform to the purpose of air quality State Implementation Plans, which set out benchmarks against which progress is measured in meeting national goals for cleaner and healthier air. The transportation conformity finding relates to those precursor pollutants produced by automobiles and other on-road transportation, generally described as “mobile source emissions.” The pollutants of most concern in this region are ozone and its precursors of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and direct PM2.5 (resulting from vehicle exhaust, brake wear, and tire wear) and NOx as a PM2.5 precursor. A copy of the AQCD may be downloaded below:
